Everyone’s hair loss experience is different, and so are their responses to different treatments. A product that works for one person may not work as well, or all for another person. How well a product works for you is dependent on many factors, for example: lifestyle, extent of hair loss and the reason for hair loss. There are different type of products that can help you tackle your hair loss, ranging from vitamins to shampoos to topical solutions. If you are struggling with alopecia, specifically androgenetic alopecia, iRestore laser restoration system may be the product for you.
What is iRestore Laser Therapy?
IRestore is an FDA-cleared hair loss treatment. This hair treatment targets people who are suffering from androgenetic alopecia. Androgenetic alopecia is commonly known as the form of hair loss that is ‘inherited’.
The iRestore system is a ‘helmet’ which you wear on your head. This device should only be used by people between the ages of 18 and 60. The helmet emits light energy that is absorbed by your cells. The light energy feeds your hair follicles. When your hair follicles reach the resting phase in the hair growth cycle, hair growth halts. This is opposed to when hair follicles are in the growth phase. When you experience hair loss, it is largely due to the fact that your hair follicles being unable to grow hair when it is in the growth phase. This is when your hair follicles are dormant. The iRestore laser therapy works by providing your dormant hair follicles with nutrients, increasing blood flow and stimulating your cell metabolism rate. This process encourages the growth phase of the hair growth cycle to increase thus stimulating and reactivating dormant hair follicles.
Will iRestore Work for me?
The question is, “does iRestore hair laser work?”. The simple answer is yes, but with all these products claiming that they work, it is only natural to be skeptical.
A study was done to test the effectiveness of iRestore. 40 participants were chosen at random, 20 were given a placebo system and 20 were given the iRestore system. After 16 weeks of using the system, the results were assessed. During these 16 weeks, the participants used their devices for 25 minutes every other day. According to the data results collected, all the participants who used the iRestore system experienced hair growth within the first 4 months of treatment. An average of 43% in hair growth was experienced these participants.
The iResore laser hair therapy system is a hair laser therapy treatment option for hair loss. Laser therapy as a hair loss treatment is generally believed to be a third option of treatment to minoxidil and finasteride. The positive results laser treatment produces makes it worth the consideration. Positive results of using the iRestore laser treatment is visible within the first 3 to 6 moths of use.

Is it Worth the Cost?
An iRestore laser hair growth system is currently priced at $595. Is it worth the cost? That is dependent on you, but for me, yes it is. The fact that the potential for side effects is so low is more than enough to convince me to use it. This is especially considering the side effects that other drugs and topical solutions cause. If you are committed to treating your hair loss and have the income available, then it’s all about whether you are willing to prioritise treatment.
However laser therapy is not for everyone. If you feel like you will lack the discipline to wear the helmet for at least and hour a week, or if you have unrealistic expectations, then o don’t recommend you use this. But if you have self-discipline, patience this treatment option is worth the try. Laser therapy is effective by itself but if you do decide to try it, don’t be afraid to try using it in combination with something else. Like any other hair loss treatment, using it in combination with something else increases your potential for better results. Adding laser therapy to you hair loss treatment regimen can help promote hair growth further, but most importantly, it can help maintain the positive results. At the end of the day, hair growth is forms only part of the treatment, the main goal, I think, is maintaining the fuller hair you grow. If you do decide to use the iRestore device in combination with another treatment, be sure to wash your head of any products containing minoxidil and drying it before putting on the device. It is important to keep the helmet away from water so be sure to dry your head properly.
